JIPH 2023

On November 27 in Yaoundé, the Minister of Social Affairs launched the 32nd edition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities,

which will be celebrated on December 3 under the theme, “A day for all”, with the official presentation of the National Strategy Paper on Community-Based Rehabilitation for Inclusive Development in Cameroon 2024-2029.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Basic Education, the General Manager of the CNRPH and the Fairmed Country Coordinator.

The National Strategy Paper on Community-Based Rehabilitation presented was defined as a compass for harmonising the responses of CBR actors at the national level to the multiple needs of persons with disabilities in terms of health, education, livelihoods and empowerment, according to a coherent framework.  The Minister of Social Affairs, Pauline Irène NGUENE, invited the various actors to work closely together to send out strong signals in the fight against social exclusion.

A number of activities are planned for this year's event in the 10 regions, including a campaign on disability prevention, early detection and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities at the Prohamdicam association on November 30.
