The official presentation ceremony of the diagnostic report of the organization
and institutional capacities of MINAS to manage social risks of projects in Cameroon took place on June 17, 2022 at the Djeuga Palace Hotel.
There was the presentation of the context and stakes of social risk of projects in Cameroon by Mrs Wendjel Caroline, Head of the National Brigade for Social Compliance of Projects at the Ministry of Social Affairs. The consultant Mr Thadee Yossa presented the diagnostic report of the capacities of MINAS to manage social risks of projects. The Minister of Social of Affairs, Mrs Pauline Irene NGUENE in her speech stated that social Compliance of projects is linked to the management of social and human risks and constitutes a major stake in the development programs and policies of our country.
She highlighted the fact that within the 2035 emergence vision and the National Development Strategy 2030, Cameroon will be carrying out projects in different domains which will affect the lives of the population thus it is important to anticipate the social and human risks that can affect people negatively.
At the end of the study, the result was that MINAS has the competence and capacities necessary to manage social risks of projects in Cameroon and this will be efficient and durable with the collaboration of other actors in the chain of social Compliance of projects. She concluded her speech by taking a commitment to ensure that project implementation should mitigate negative impacts while promoting positive ones.
